the top 5 photos for today's picts, themed "architecture".
|
|
>a facade in st pancras train station, london.a place i used my tripod last, before accidentally
leaving it on the trolley.shooot.i love the colours of the bricks glow in real life when it reflects the morning sun.
>another view from st pancras train station, this time, with the whole interior in the frame.
it is naturally lit, with a huge light well (more of an opening) on the ceiling.
very dramatic, especially when the angle of the sun is low,and it illuminates certain parts of the insides, and leaving the other parts gloomy.
>a view of one of Doha's Souqs (market).this is during the night time.
i came to the same spot, while it was still birght, and the ambience was different.
at night, the haze/dusts in the air is less visible, and that it gives a feeling of fresh air (decieving though, tapi confirm banyak taik idung.ahaha).with the strong smell of sheeshaa, distant giggles from the locals nearby, killing time with the family,
it sure is one "lively" night bazaar.
>a view of the entrance of one of the souqs.recently redeveloped but the "feeling" of the night bazaar obtained, and not too modern.
>i ran out of architectural pictures on this entry,so i went and used this picture (from a few entries back).it's a picture of a connecting bridge between two houses in dundee.
i havent got the chance to get a good angle of it,but in the mean time, this will do.

>a building nearby.it's one of dundee's univ building.
>irfan,with the "geng kapak" pose
>near the shipyard,cross processed.
a picture of a swan,looking for shrimps,or whatever it eats.(maybe weeds)
>a picture outside irfan's bedroom (die tak tido kat situ pon).with the new circulat polariser on.whoohooo.
and of course, you guys can go to my blog, and see (read) me whine about the simple things in life-well,sort of)

>a picture of a very eye-catching beautiful tree.("it's called cherry blossom la bak," said mum)
>a picture of irfan (as my model for today) trying to reach for the ball.
>a picture of irfan's home-made swiss roll that he just learnt at school today, which he then baked another one for me and mummy, and himself of course.
>another view of a tulip nearby.

my journey so far..
|
|
credits to fik.
pakbus,nenek and fik.
picture of me being sengal.
my flight was at 1.50am from KLIA to Doha international airport.it took around 7hours to get there and upon arriving,i managed to snap some picture before security came up to me,and told me that no photos are allowed in the airport.
a picture through the window of the transit bus that took me to the main terminal.
i had some trouble getting through customs as i need to have a visa, which i then made in like a few minutes, got through, and went outside.my initial impression of Doha was like,"erm,ni mesti banyak taik idung ni." coz the air is full of fine dusts.i searched around, looking for dr azhar (my mom's friend, who is a specialist there),and eventually found him,as he was wearing a tshirt with MALAYSIA written on the back.(what wouldve happened if he didnt?)..he drove me around the entire town in under half an hour or so,(which proves how small Doha is).i didnt really get a chance to photograph the buildings as i was in the car,but the high rise buildings were awesome.
(pictures will come soon insyaAllah)
i then arrived at his house, which is big and comfy, with a little bit of arabic interiors splashed into his interior design.
the house is really nice.
i had a guava juice, then later joined the whole family for a very welcoming breakfast..they served me mee jawa and nasi goreng jakarta.(i dunno if that is what they call it,or they're making a joke as their new son in law is from jakarta.)
after taking a cold refreshing shower (can u imagine how refreshing it was?hehe),i then helped them prepare for what is said to be a small picnic in the sand dunes.
after about an hour's drive filled with detours as most of the parts of the way in in repair,we arrived at the very end of the tarmac road, and into the sandy part.
we climbed down and deflated the tyres for a better grip.i managed to snap a few pics of the camel, and the surroundings.
a picture of the camels that we drove by.
the hummer.
another SUV that tagged along was the hummer.now ive never seen one in real life, but the hummer sure was powerful and strong!sure made me feel like i want to own one!
but that fact the engine is 3.5litre,i assume it really is not a petrol saver.(mesti guna kat Doha je,sebab petrol murah gile bambrengg--80 sen per litre..used to be 70..damnnnn..gile bestt..you guys try and compare to malaysia lahh..)
dr azhar and abdul ghofur (his new son in law)
dr azhar, isham(i dunno how to spell his name, sorry),and abdul ghofur
one of the stunts.(terrifying)
we went up and down the dunes, and it was a totally new experience for me.i mean, alhamdulillah, ive been to a cold country, and warm coutry before, plus a few other places, but ive never been to a sand dune before, especially going off road!
and now it is our turn!
we took a break, and did zuhr,as well as as'r,(jama' taqdim,as we were more than 90km from home).most of the guys went to cool down after the long drive and excitement, but i decided not to..(bukan sombong, but the shirt and trousers that im wearing will be the only clothes that i'll wear until i reach dundee *that includes another 7hours of flight journey,5hours of waiting in the airport, and 6 hours of riding in the train*
so im planning not to get these clothes dirty,or wet.hehe.
owh yeah, and auntie lina (dr's wife) provided us with ample food (mee and air sirap+sprite).thanks to her, lega sikit kelaparan.hehe
a few of the guys(and gals) that joined the short adventure.
if only i had a wide angle, mesti tak payah nak senget2kan camera.
hehe
later that night, after reaching home,i took a bath, transferred the images into my laptop, and did maghrib with them.we then ate dinner with a few of dr's friends from malaysia, and we (dr,auntie lina, abdul ghofur) sent the kids to the house before rushing to the souqs (market) before it closes.
the souqs.
i got 3 kopiahs for my brothers and i,and a shoal for my mum.but tak sempat nak bayar,dr dah hulur duit.haihsss.
dah la die belanje makann.thanks doctor.jasamu dikenang.
dr azhar and his family have been nothing but very nice and wonderful hosts to me.may Allah bless them.
*note*
this is just a brief storyline of what i went through.tak sompek nak edit or share banyak2.
later will edit (to geng karya, gambat tadika akan di post for you guys to share nanti, for amin+thabit+din+aina+ainaa+wani, gambar kat utm KL akan di upload dalam entry akan datang,to ijam and mazita, gambar akan di update, and pada yg menunggu entries on my journey(s),akan di update insyaAllah.but akan kurang cakap, banyak gambar je.hehehe.den ni pomalehh!

insyaAllah i'll be going to Doha first,n lepak there for about 18hours,before heading to heathrow, and taking the subway to kingscross, and then take a speed train to dundee, where my mumm and brother will be waiting for me.(if not, then i'll be waiting for them lah,but that's ok)
